MEASURE ONCE. COMPARE CLEARLY.
Your fit notebook.
Compare two sets of garment measurements side by side. Use a comfortable reference pair and measurements supplied for the candidate garment.
Enter both pairs in the same unit. Waistband and thigh entries are flat widths, not body circumferences. Leave a measurement blank if it is not supplied; do not replace it with a body-size chart number.
| Garment measurement | Reference pair | Candidate pair |
|---|---|---|
| Laid-flat waistband width | ||
| Inseam | ||
| Front rise | ||
| Laid-flat thigh width |
This compares the numbers you enter; it does not predict your size or guarantee a fit. Saving uses this browser’s local storage only.
Make the comparison meaningful
Fasten the reference waistband and lay the pair flat without pulling its elastic. Measure the inseam from the crotch seam to the finished hem. Measure front rise from the crotch seam up to the top of the front waistband. Use the same thigh measurement point for both pairs; ask the manufacturer which point its chart uses.
A flat waistband width and a full circumference are different measurements. Doubling a width is not a universal conversion for shaped or elastic waistbands. Compare the same measurement method, and keep a blank when the methods do not match.
Positive differences mean the candidate measurement is larger. They do not tell you whether that difference is comfortable: fabric, rise, pocket layers and pattern shape still matter. Read the measurement guide before comparing, then use the movement check when a pair arrives.
